It seems we at an all time low of intelligence. So here is my formal apology. Love to all!

Apology to the Universe

I can only speak for myself. What myself encompasses entirely is presently beyond the knowledge of the conscious creature incarnate here on planet earth, alive through a body that is made of the same stuff as the terrestrial habitat it roams. I speak for that conscious creature, and the operating personality that assists in navigation of the terrain.

I don’t know why we are given such a sublime gift and not able to operate it smoothly. It seems easy enough to live here, to work, play, dance, perform, write… sleep. Maybe the other 80% percent of our brain could bring it in. How do we turn that on?

I can see all the answers to humanities woes and the dark clouds that hinder these solutions. It is obvious that something is amiss and that some group of string pullers does not like being around humans that are healthy, awake, and fulfilled.

Many think it is just a mechanism of greed consolidated with megalomania, some think it is just a whole lot of disconnected greed, working itself out on the population.

It seems rather clear that many humans have forgotten how to live on this planet. How to give birth, save seed, and live through winter. Plenty still do, but vast tracts of this beautiful planet are being ruined, culturally and ecologically, to feed this population.

This gem of blue shining in the universe is revered by many of you out there I am almost sure. So I really am sorry for what we are doing here. Sorry for all of it.

Every tree cut instead of the fiber queen hemp being used to make lumber.

Every mountain blown up or dug out for minerals or fuel that we don’t really need instead of using wind, solar, biomass, pneumatics, and textiles.

For all the unnecessarily toxic manufacturing processes we utilize and the waste we do almost nothing to stop.

For the industrialized agriculture, feed lot, pasteurizing machine that poisons the holy relationship of land, food, and kitchen.

For butchering and poisoning ill people instead of giving them botanical preparations, appropriate diets, manual therapies, and exercises.

For all the wasted water, like putting excrement in one of the universe’s most valuable resource, FRESH WATER, WTF!

For the damage that all those activities cause to waterways and aquifers.

For the senseless pillage of our own dignity, our cultural heritage, and the traumatic abuse that goes on all over the planet;

Abuse to trees and plants,
to animals,
to rivers and oceans,
to the land,
and to each other.

I feel ashamed some moments, I feel rage roiling up in me, I say
“Stupid Humans” and move on with remorse and love and faith that some how those of us that care will be given that chance again.

I am sorry my friends who love this place.
I’m sorry for how stupid we have let ourselves become.
If you want to help us, now is the time.
Love

If you can't choose your own health care options, how are you free?

Here is a letter you can paste and send to your Representatives, send it to your state reps too. Everyone should hear about this.

Ron Paul wants to make the FDA, a quasi G.O. that is inhabited thoroughly by big Pharma and big Ag, do it's own work to DIS credit valid traditional medicine. We have been healing each other for thousands of years in almost the same way, and I would like to continue, for myself. Even if you don't want traditional medicine and prefer the treatments and drugs they have invented in the last 100 or so years, ensure that options are available. Even Loius Pasture realized on his death bed that his work was wrong and subsequently mishandled.

Below the letter are a few links about the FDA and the AMA, both caught with their pants down behind the wood shed, helping their "friends" in "food" and "medicine" manufacturing bring us such brilliant care. Thanks.

Support Ron Paul's Health Freedom Protection Act, H.R. 2117

Tell Your Congressmen and Women to Co Sponsor the Health Freedom Protection Act, H.R. 2117

The FDA is on a rampage against dietary supplements. Preventing reasonable and factual health claims, the FDA is using its immense power to fuel the pharmaceutical profit picture at the expense of the lives and health of hundreds of thousands of Americans each year. The rights of Americans to learn about natural products through truthful, science-based health claims is routinely stifled to the detriment of health and health freedom in the United States.

This bill shifts the burden of proof onto the FDA whenever the agency wants to deny the public the benefit of health claims information about Dietary Supplements.

H. R. 2117 allows reasonable health claims, with proper disclosure language, "unless the Secretary determines that -- `(i) there is no scientific evidence that supports the claim; and `(ii) the claim is inherently misleading and incapable of being rendered non misleading through the addition of a disclaimer." Thus, even "a scintilla" of scientific evidence would allow the making of claims that Dietary Supplements may be of benefit to individuals. The requirements of the bill are consistent with the law that already governs the agency's position, announced in 2004, "FDA intends to apply a standard for substantiating claims for dietary supplements that is consistent with the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC's) standard for dietary supplements and other health related products of 'competent and reliable scientific evidence'."

Current FDA policy, in violation of US Case Law, is to deny truthful claims which do not relate to either structure or function. All other truthful health claims are currently forbidden by the FDA. This bill would greatly enhance public access to truthful and
not misleading health information, in keeping with the US Supreme Court's dictum in Thompson v. Western States Medical Centers and presents a clear opportunity to enhance legal
protections for Dietary Supplements and natural remedies.

Urge your Congressmen/women to press for passage of H. R. 2117 and to introduce sister legislation into the Senate. This Health over-regulation of safe food substances to what should properly be considered their main task, protecting people from dangerous drugs and medical devices.

Please use this opportunity to encourage your Representatives to work with other congresspeople to join as cosponsors and your Senators to introduce sister legislation and get behind the Health Freedom Protection Act.

Yours in health and freedom,

Dr. Rima

Rima E. Laibow, MD

Medical Director

Natural Solutions Foundation

http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif

Here is a little history of the various acts that have enabled the FDA over the years
Dirty trail

Wiki for the AMA, American Medical Association here.

Here is a quote from another history of the AMA.
"The American Medical Association, organized in New York in 1848, advanced two seemingly innocent propositions in its early days: that all doctors should have a "suitable education" and that a "uniform elevated standard of requirements for the degree of M.D. should be adopted by all medical schools in the U.S." These were part of the AMA's real program, which was openly discussed at its conventions and in the medical journals: to secure a government-enforced medical monopoly and high incomes for mainstream doctors.

Membership in the new organization was open only to "regular" physicians, whose therapies were based on the "best system of physiology and pathology, as taught in the best schools in Europe and America." The public had a different view, however. Official treatments of the time, such as bloodletting and mercury poisoning, harmed and sometimes murdered patients, causing mass outrage."

Piqued your interest enough?
Here is the rest of it.

THE NEW DEAL, PART TWO

It's obvious now that what ever our new deal is so far it's no deal at all. nothing but random pork, bank bailouts that will just help people exit the lending market and bouey poorly run institutions, highway construction to help continue a blind subsidy of long haul trucking, new crack downs on property rights and health care freedoms.

WE NEED TO STAND UP AND BE COUNTED PEOPLE!
IT'S TIME TO NOTIFY THESE LOOSERS IN CONGRESS THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR STEERING THE SHIP, AND THE PRESIDENT TOO.

I have composed a letter, please copy and email, or print and snail it to your representatives in DC. It is a simple call to balance the equation and bring our country and humanity back to the light. We are falling people, learn to fly or die!

hello elected officials,

As you may know, in the waning days of the Bush Administration, the BLM signed a decision to drastically increase the amount of clear cutting on public lands. This decision (know as the Western Oregon Plan Revisions or “WOPR”) was opposed by over 25,000 Americans who asked the BLM to manage these lands for the benefit of all, not just for the profits of a few. Now the BLM contends that despite the wishes of the public, that large-scale clear cutting will be their primary forest “management” tool.

Now the WOPR itself exposes a larger flaw in the system because it was created as a response to rural western counties need for payments from their “occupied for free” federal lands. TO GET MONEY, TIMBER MUST BE HARVESTED. This is an unsustainable policy arrangement and is unfair due to the amount of taxable land base these counties loose.

We as a nation are vulnerable to Federal Forest land decisions, and in rural western counties especially so. This comes both in changes to our quality of life including loss of salmon economy, recreation opportunities, , as well as larger direct services large swathes of mature forests provide, such as weather and atmospheric stablisation, carbon sequestration, wild life habitat, crucial to national food supplies, local water qualities and well managed forest doesn’t burn as hot, cutting down on costs incurred from fighting wild fires.

This policy is why the BLM created WOPR, so rural westerncounties can get some money from the millions of federal acres on which they collect no annual taxes.

I ENCOURAGE A NO HARVEST PAYMENT SYSTEM FOR ALL STATES WITH FEDERAL LANDS.

We need the tax base payments to be fairly represented in Washington DC! A western state legislative coalition (that perhaps some mid and eastern state reps join) could easily make this happen. Salmon create jobs and human food, 2x4s are just a waste of resource when other composite fiber options are available and provide an overall savings in resource conversion. This coupled with increased farm products and low energy manufacturing = a huge reason to team up and transform the economy of more than just western states with two simple initiatives:

A NO HARVEST PAYMENT SYSTEM FOR ALL STATES WITH FEDERAL LANDS, TO HELP PAY RURAL COUNTIES FOR THEIR ROLE IN PROTECTION AND LONG TERM RESTORATIVE MANAGEMENT OF THESE VALUEBLE STRATEGIC RESOURCES.

IT WILL ALSO MAKE THE FEDERAL OCCUPATION OF THESE LANDS A LITTLE MORE FAIR.

DECRIMINALIZING INDUSTRIAL HEMP TO JUMP START THE MOST LUCRATIVE AND INNOVATIVE TIME IN OUR HISTORY; ONE THAT WILL BRING FARMERS AND NICHE MANUFACTURERS TO THE FOREFRONT OF THE ECONOMY AND PUT MILLIONS BACK TO WORK, PRODUCING FIBER PRODUCTS THAT WILL EASILY REPLACE THE BUILDING MATERIALS NOW HARVESTED FROM SOFT WOOD FORESTS, HIGH VALUE PROTIEN FOOD STUFFS AND EASY TO PROCESS FUELS OR PLASTICS FROM THE SEEDS, AND STURDY RICH SOIL THAT WILL HELP REPLACE THE MILLIONS OF TONS WE HAVE LOST OVER THE LAST CENURY.

WE ARE POISED AT THE CLIFF AND MUST JUMP INTO SPACE AND FLY BY THE TIME WE REACH BOTTOM OR WE DIE!

IT IS TIME FOR A LEGISLATIVE COALITION TO FORM AND MAKE THIS HAPPEN. WE WILL ALL HAVE JOBS, THE ATMOSPHERE WILL IMPROVE, THE SOIL WILL IIMPROVE, SALMON WILL BE ALLOWED TO RETURN IN GREAT NUMBERS, WESTERN RURAL COUNTIES WILL FEEL INCLUDED AND FAIRLY TREATED, FUEL PRICES WILL STABALIZE, INNOVATION WILL ESCALATE, AND YOUR CONSTITUENTS WILL FEEL RESPECTED.

WE WILL TURN THE TIDES ON FUEL SCARCITY, CLIMATE ISSUES, ECONOMIC ISSUES, SOCIAL ISSUES AND LEARN TO FLY INSTEAD OF DIE!

YOU MUST DO IT!

IF YOU DO NOT, IT WILL BE KNOWN BY ALL THAT READ AND SEND THIS, THAT YOU PEOPLE, NOT YOUR OFFICES, ACTED AS FIDUCIARIES FOR THE WORLD’S RULING/OWNING ELITE INSTEAD OF THE PEOPLE WHO ELECTED YOU, AND WE MAY, DUE TO THE PERILOUS NATURE OF OUR POSITION AS A SPECIES AT PRESENT MOMENT, FIND YOU GUILTY OF CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY. INDIVIDUALS MAY ACT IN BAD WAYS, YOU ARE DOING THIS PERSONALLY AND THEY MAY SEEK RETRIBUTION. THIS IS THE END GAME AND ITS UP TO YOU PEOPLE TO CUT OUR CHAINS AND LET OUR WINGS GROW.

DO NOT GIVE OUR COUNTRY AWAY AND SELL US OFF AS SLAVES!

DO THE RIGHT THING NOW!

NOW SOME MUSIC
Sweat Shop Union is great hip hop act out of BC. They're vocal harmonies, conscious content, and excellent craftmanship give them 3 gold stars on my chart! Not to be missed.

I am really concerned about some legislation being fast tracked through congress right now. HR 875 and S 425 are both "food security" measures that will force all farms and ranches, no matter size or scale, to adhere to specific practices. These are counter to natural and organic methods of land stewardship and will basically back door the destruction safe and pure food.

This also flies in the face of property rights and choice of methods to run your enterprise, where do we live folks? Looks like Hitlers Germany to me...

I have not read the bill, but there is a lot of chatter about it so I'm suggesting a firm no. Tell your elected officials, they will listen. Tell them you don't want super agencies to control our food or health care, NO to the new "food czar" and "health care czar". These new federal agencies are sure to be worse than the ones we already have. Tell the them to divest the FDA also. Do it now, please.

Please click onto the congress.org link to the right and do something about it, please
this government is slipping backwards so quickly it's amazing. We need less control not more...

Gotta run. ciao

Socialism at its best...

It may seem naive but I think the feds should spend their money buying equity in both large scale wind projects and de-centralized roof top solar schemes. They have the check book power right now, when it's needed, and the long term revenue will boost federal coffers for ever, cutting the need for some future taxes.

I know that socialism is a dirty word at many parties, but I am a small scale manufacturer and a huge supporter of energy revenue for governing bodies. Why freely give money or incentives to private industry when states and the feds need revenue desperately. Private industry will find new ways to profit of our needs and state (or locally) owned utilities are part of what helped build our nation into the greatness it is about to fall from. This will solve the lack of viable credit markets, put teeth in any generation standards they agree to, help fund our national security, and help restore faith in our federal government's ability to meet public demand!

And yes please give me carbon tax, at the meter, at the pump, and especially at the stationary points of emission, and make it a stiff one, we need the money and the incentive. While you're at it, why not invest all the revenue into owning more generation and transmission capacity and make our government rich again!

It sucks to be governed 4 sure, but at least we could be governed by responsible stewards that own equity in major revenue generating infrastructures and follow a simple set of principles that steer our policies...oh yeah, that's the constitution...

What ever happened to that thing anyway?

Here's an updated set of principles that could be used for a strategic plan to get back to the business of having fun around here permaculture's guiding principles scroll down and read on. Individuals and organizations that want to be profitable or at least effective will be rendering a life in balance and cooperation with surrounding ecosystems. That includes social, economic, and terrestrial. Relating to our federal govt' throwing money to private banks, i'll say no more. We don't need to fund zombies and prison gaurds. Funding "shovel ready" projects could help a little, keep some folks employed anyway. But we need a lot more than just a few jobs.

We need to re-inhabit our economic ecosystem.

So much of it has been off shored or done away with in the name of "growth" and ROI bottom lines, that it's effectively a clear cut we now have to re-plant. So clear cut may be a bit much, severely disrupted for sure and "gutted" of it's natural supply chain. This leaves most of us with little choice beyond imported, plastic, genetically altered, wage slave produced, and sure to break in 4 months to a year products.

Initiatives that up the use of recycled materials and agricultural fibers in our supply chains will improve our long term, collective bottom line. If those materials are truly renewable, like non tree agricultural fibers or post consumer waste, it will improve all the more because our collective natural long term capital will remain intact, while our short term seasonal capital renews itself annually. This principle can be applied almost anywhere in the economy. Design, manufacture, building, even the service and entertainment sectors can save money and support net gains of material prosperity by choosing appropriately in supply chain and design decisions.

If currency is also allowed to circulate regionally and profits are well distributed then the overall effect is even more noticeable. The same money continues purchasing goods and services, adding value to peoples' lives till it goes away, along with most of the profit, to a distant bank account and share holders' dividends.
Here's the wiki on ethical purchasing.
Worth a read.

Alternative currencies wiki

Here is something a little more thought out.

Along the way small steps can help the use of alternatives, be they post consumer or post wasteful. Here's an idea:

Executive order that commands all paper trails for the white house and congress(if possible) and why not the entire public school system too, be printed on paper containing minimum of 80% post consumer (or 50%PC/25% split w/ non tree sources). That would make the paper that no one wants to recycle worth more. Every piece of paper would be recycled because of the demand needed to sustain this new order. Transport and domestic paper production would increase w/ a net reduction in over all harm to our shared resources (atmosphere, water, landscapes etc.). Agricultural fiber production would begin being profitable and eventually with this constant in flux of annual fiber, paper prices could stablize as would the price of many things.

Recycled paper value low, problem solved. Trees that could be sinking carbon into their trunks and the ground being turned needlessly into paper? Solved. Massive dumping of toxic materials from tree to paper process into rivers, solved. Little or no market for agricultural fiber products, solved.

Here is the original executive order William Jefferson Clinton signed to get a 30% post consumer content in "non permanent" documents. Tell president Obama to go another step, if the order is still in place.

While you're at it, how bout an executive order legalizing industrial hemp again, granting farmers the power to grow most of what we need in the field. All that while taking carbon out of the air, improving soil, and providing for a massive resurgence of US ingenuity in industrial production.
Check out some Industrial hemp facts here.

Why not throw heavy subsidies at alternatives to forest sourced lumber using agricultural composites, encourage use of local currencies, and write a guide for states and counties to follow loosening up building codes and permit requirements.

Want another reason to laugh, check this out!

It seems technology has once again shown us that we can live life and use less electricity. Magnetic refrigeration, welcome to the party. Read here for a NYT article.

Seems like a good investment...

And as though you didn't already know that giant fuel providers and oil extraction companies would eek out profits even in this atmosphere, read here.

Seems like another good investment, if you want to make blood money. This will give trains the opportunity to play their most efficient role in transportation logistics. Read an WSJ article here that exposes the fixed pricing agenda. Contact your congress reps here and be sure mention railroads' important role in increasing shipping efficiency by using less fuel and causing no harm on our federal highways system. Also remind them that train industry has to build it's own roads and will need to upgrade in coming years. A study by the Surface Transportation Board supports railroads' price increases, only 6% on average. Please do something to help our country, contact your representatives. I have a bit of geek in me and trust in data and analysis for most of my answers in life. Thanks you.

Recently a newspaper in London, The Independent asked the world's leading climate scientists whether we should prepare a 'Plan B' to curb the worst effects of global warming. The only one that really hit it on the nose follows, but other folks semi agreed with his theory.

Some actually posited that geo-engineering some "global cooling" scheme is a potential solution. Um, has anyone read up on the sobering news that our so called "global warming" has potentially staved off the next cycle of ice age? national geographic article
Here's an article about the sun spot theory relating to cooling cyles article 1
and another about the potential of de-salinization in regards to quick climate change. Sounds like a movie to me...

How about the effects of so called areosal seeding in the atpmosphere, it coulod worsen the scene. pan evaporation study analysis

Here again is the smart answer to the question posed by the Independent:

Kevin Trenberth, US National Centre for Atmospheric Research, Boulder, Colorado

Who makes the decision on behalf of all humanity and other residents of planet earth to change the climate deliberately?

Climate change is not necessarily bad. The climate has always varied to some degree, and changes have occurred over decades and millennia. Humans and other creatures have evolved and adapted to the changes, or perished. It is a part of evolution. Changes projected with increased greenhouse gases in the atmosphere may have some aspects that could be regarded as bad: increased heat waves and wild fires in summer, increased and more intense droughts, heavier rains and risk of flooding, stronger storms and hurricanes, decreases in air quality, increases in bugs and disease, and so on, are all likely threats. But in some areas climates improve, high latitude continents become more equable, growing seasons are longer, and so on.

There are winners and losers and it is possible to adapt to such changes – at least if the changes occur slowly enough to allow this to happen. In other words, a key issue is the rate of change, perhaps more so than the nature of the change? This obviously also depends of how long such changes continue for. In that sense, it is the "change" part of climate change that might be argued as being bad.

But given that there is no universal condemnation of the climate change, how can anyone justify deliberately acting to change the climate to benefit some group, and perhaps even a majority? It is argued here that the ethical questions arising from this loom so large that some forms of geo-engineering are simply unacceptable. The forms that are acceptable include those that reduce emissions and mitigate the rates of change, or reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Forms that propose to block the sun in some fashion, perhaps to emulate a volcanic eruption, change the hydrological cycle and weather patterns in ways that would be simply unacceptable, even if they were doable. The cost of any such proposals and their viability are other major issues, but, in my view, they are overwhelmed by the ethical considerations.

Look here for complete list of answers to this puzzling question good luck buttercup.

Where's the NEW deal gonna go? part one...

First a little music, thanks to Old Growth for playing our little venue and rocking the old school power trio,
old gorwth myspace here
On to business.

If ever we have a time for a new deal it's now, but how bout a really new deal?

Obama and the pundits are all calling for "shovel ready" highway projects to bolster our pocket books. Great, let's see how much of the money goes to the owners and shareholders of the huge construction firms that land that beefy contracts...

Here's a strategic plan:

Now how about Obama's science team hire some really innovative thinkers like the folks at Rocky Mountain Institute or Bucky Fullers legacy The Buckminster Fuller Institute

I feel like there is so much waste in our economy from how we transport goods to how we live in and build our homes that getting out from under this "recession" will take more than a few bandaids. Someone in charge needs to look at every sector of the economy, analyse it for savings to the economy as whole and start passing laws and starting programs that will favor efficiency and building the missing pieces to the puzzle.

Banking: good luck here, I don't really understand why we still have the Federal Reserve printing our money for us? do you?! This knot is tied tight and has been played by some of the smartest...
Here's something written about the history of central banking, usury, etc. If you prefer video
watch this click on the left one, addendum.

Transport:
This one is simple. Make a new system of buildings owned by the state, funded by the feds that are rail depots. Places that trains stop and drop freight, where local/regional private delivery systems take over. Think UPS, postal service, produce and food, tools, wal mart. What ever needs to move distances greater than 100 miles can go this route. Everything fits in a shipping container and gets dropped off.
Jobs for construction and jobs for warehouse logistics. State owned = state revenues.

Make the scheme affordable by taxing long haul trucks according to the damage they impose on the Interstate and intrastate highways. That's tax per mile = revenue and real value of highways' use reflected in cost of transport options. Trains will become the affordable option(they really are more efficient) and with new depot system in place before taxes take effect no big hit to the economy. More train employees, more regional drivers = less long haul trucks on highway = safer roads that last longer, much much longer. Better for national security as well. Now this is more applicable outside of NE corridor but even there it would have some play.

Resource extraction/resource use:
Complicated regulations and very cheap grazing/mining/logging leases need to go bye-bye. The cheap leases (and lack of paying for down stream/atmospheric storage of waste) deflate the value of industrial/commercial supply chain commodities and almost ensure inefficient use of them in all applications down the supply chain. If commodities are expensive because of real cost reflected in their price, than they are not as easily wasted. This reality would drive the price of some things up at the consumer level but it will level the playing field with alternatives to those commodities.

Example; in the suburban home construction sector, the price for lumber is far below what it is really worth because of federal losses in timber sales. This drives the overall value of trees down significanlty for every producer so it's a double wammy! If we had lumber cost what it's really worth than fiber composite boards (fiberboards for sale) would take over the lumber market, creating new manufacturing jobs, new agricultural jobs(the source of fiber) mitigating cost of large forest fires in poorly manged national forests, give us the go ahead to actually fix the forest ecosystem with small diameter thinning projects along population interfaces(more jobs). This would also help west coast salmon runs, (more jobs)increase the value of reclaimed(yet to be recycled) paper, and spur the implementation of new construction methods as well.

How bout we throw in a law that mandates use of 80-100% post consumer paper in all federal, state and county paper trails to the extent the supply chain can handle it. That will drive up the price of recycled paper, which has plummeted recently, and ensure that it all gets recycled again because suddenly it will be worth something.

I know i've been barking up this tree before and here it is again. Tax carbon emissions at stationary industrial source points. Most electricity waste and un-mitigated heat loss waste will be fixed internally by source polluters because carbon tax will make this waste unacceptable in bottom line. Electricity generated with coal/natural gas will cost more than other sources and shift market dynamics in favor of true renewables. Carbon trading schemes will just help bloat trading floors with more exotic paper to buy and sell. Carbon taxes could go right into federal programs that aid emerging technologies.Read this for more opinions and
how stuff works article
here for Wiki

I have much more to spout out but will save it for another time.

F#*k the Bailout!

In case anyone isn't seeing this for what it is, take into consideration a few of the following points:

remember the S@L bailout years ago and how wrong it appeared in retrospect...

How about the fact that our economy was quite healthy after the depression/new deal and that the lean economic times helped bring people together...

If this is such a globally catastrophic melt down why is the US putting up all the money?

Why is the US going to bailout the wealthiest and most physically unproductive sector of our society, they produce no real value in the economy (aside from driving the prices up) and are clearly ineffective as investments banks if they bought the crappy securities to begin with. If i made a bunch of bad buys in the market would I be bailed out? NO!

They say the credit market drives our economy, but the last I looked a good job drives me around.

They say that this will help the housing market and get more developers working so builders can re-hire...and build more houses so we can do this whole thing over again?...sounds like an effective strategy.

They say without this the credit market will continue to flounder, but 700 billion is enough to do the following:

pay down credit debt for middle/lower class to create space in the credit market(700 billion would give 100 million people $6,000 each) and stimulate consumer economy, provided there are jobs for people to earn

which leads me to the next option in our solution

provide small business loans, at low interest rate, to companies that can provide work for new hires and R&D

Or

Put it into infrastructure like an updated power grid and new rail depots/lines to handle freight more efficiently than trucks and highways (that our taxes pay to fix at a huge loss considering the trucks do %80 of the damage if not more.)

So i say let the banks burn and use the money to stimulate a future for our world.

If you want to help than email your representatives here.

hope you write, it's easy just put your zip code in and write a note...

Who decided we suddenly have 700 billion to spend anyway??? Read the Oregonian article here.

On the zero emission auto front it seems another player in the "convert your gas guzzler to a plug in" angle has sprung up. I posted something about Left Coast Conversions 6 months ago that does it for half the price of the new player called, Hybrid Technologies. They do it more like an option when you purchase your car as opposed to Left coast that does it more after market style. Either way it's just a matter of time before mechanic entrepreneurs see the niche and train themselves, driving the price down. Senator blah blah blah from New Mexico has tried once again to slip in, check this pork, loan guarantees for nuclear power plants that we won't need to begin with. So write or call your Sentor and tell them to remove the loan guarantees from the appropriations bill, while your at it tell them you don't want any more Nuclear power plants and wish instead to see de-centralization of electricity generation and $ put into re-vamping the power grid to ease the transition to energy freedom. Read an article about it here

There is plenty of more news out there and more we need to do than just this but if you get bored after your senator call, be creative, make something pretty or tasty and take a deep breath of your freedom wile you still have it.

Thanks and have a great moment...

Hello I love You...

Here's a little something worth watching super veggie band

Here's a telling blip of news; Dubai based, Al Yousuf Group, with major car dealership branches all over the Arabian peninsula, bought $5 million worth of shares in Zap, an electric car company. It has been reported the nuclear regulatory body here in the USA is expecting some 30 applications for new generating facilities by the end of 2008. These come with huge tax breaks thanks to the piece of crap they called an energy bill a couple years ago. All I see is a bunch of pigs at the feeding trough trying to lock in deals worth billions before the obvious is part of the national conversation,

THAT WE DON'T NEED THAT MUCH CENTRALIZED POWER GENERATION WITH ALL THE CHANGES HERE NOW AND COMING IN THE ENERGY AND TRANSMISSION GRID LANDSCAPE.

If you care to voice your thoughts contact the Regulatory Commission NRC and your congressunit to tell them you don't want nuclear waste material around for 10,000 plus years when solar, battery and high efficiency technology are so on the brink.

In that same vein, more states are moving towards de-coupling their electricity generators. This allows utilities and providers much more lee-way in a good way. Read about it here. The final verdict isn't in on de-coupling but it seems if it's structured with rate payers and overall efficiency in mind, good things.

And...

The Big Apple will enjoy a brighter apple this new year's eve while consuming half the electricity of previous ones thanks to LED lighting technology. Something tells me New Yorkers will figure out a way to use it anyway, and I'm cool with that. New York has free pass on everything in my book. Keep it alive and kicking for the rest of us!

Imagine if every apt. and house in the country was lit by LEDs (12% more efficient than compact fluorescent bulbs, with better light and more color options), those high pressure fluorescents (with trace amounts of mercury gas in them) wouldn't be needed. A handful of retailers and manufacturers would loose their investments but hey they could make and sell the LEDs too. What a shame that pushing these new light bulbs is so well intentioned yet missing the mark.

PG&Es effort is nice but it seems like an attempt to push the lesser option of new options.

Here is a piece that talks about China jumping on the incadescent bulb ban, funny they make 70% of the light bubls everyone is about to replace. I wonder what their motivation is?
Speaking of China, they are about to commit the second most dispicable crime in their modern history, read about it here. This one makes me want to cry...

It seems that GE is cutting back on light bulb manufacturing, probably consolidating its operations in china, where power plants have no emission control and associated shipping emissions account for huge portions (2-5%) of our so called carbon load. Read about GE here.

Read here about California's attempt to regulate emissions from these china boats full of light bubls. Good luck...

Hmm, do we still need those new power plants...there's an awful lot of $$$ to made building those things, with plenty of tax breaks for the process, maybe we should give away more money on technology that doesn't really finish the job, yea that sounds smart.

And if you love the old spotted owl, go here by today, Friday, to request a new plan for helping the endangered raptor.

Now all this news seems forbodding, with $$ sloshing around the policy writers and makers, widening the gap between wealthy and not. I don't fret because the universe is so much bigger than us and we are waking up to that fact. The sun is our lover and Earth our bed. The fantastic potentials for humanity stewarding this paradise called Earth are just coming into view. All this bull shit, while important to follow and take control of, is just a smoke screen. A better cage if you will. See through it and take control of your fucking world, one thought at a time. We create our reality, so think positive and act accordingly, GOd bless and may the force be with you.

Happy Birthday Critical Mass

This is actually a belated birthday but what ever. 15 years ago in San Fransisco bicycle commuters and activists took over the streets for a few hours one Friday afternoon. This tradition continued every month and caught on in cities and towns all over the US. Last Saturday was national don't drive your car day and I am guessing the coincidence was planned for the day after the birthday. For anyone wanting a nostalgic
viewing of the Bay Guardian and their bit about it read here.

It seems that all the foot dragging by fuel station owners and gasoline refiners has actually created a glut of ethanol in the market. Imagine that, available fuel is sitting un-used while the price of corn drops, both circumstances screwing the burgeoning bio fuels industry and farmers alike. But wait, gasoline refiners get a federal subsidy of $.51 per gallon of ethanol mixed into petroleum based fuels. Why the glut? When was the last time you saw E85 gas available or had a car that could handle it? Read a NYT article here
if interested.

The real solution as I have said many times is plug in cars and a re-vamped electricity grid. Most people that drive cars use them for less than 150 miles per use making the plug in ideal. They have faster acceleration too.

Tesla Motors still slow on getting their plug in sports car to market, ask them why their next car is a sedan instead of a station wagon or mini van with real market value. Here's their website

It looks like Oregon finally has some affordable electric vehicles now that ZAP opened up a new Portland show room, and it's on the east side! Check zap's blog
here,
and read on to hear about some strategic alliances they made with a Chilean utility and a Chinese auto manufacturer.

So things are still good, even though the fascists are usurping more power, the greedy greedos are doing what ever they can and using the once free market as their shield while wielding a sword made from their ill gotten gains. They kill everybody in the market because they have lobby forces paid for by the subsidies and favors those same lobby fucks get for them. So many uncertainties, inequities, and ubiquities it's hard to see the love in all our hearts but it is alive and we all have a response ability to act according to our values and abilities. Thanks and have a great moment.

So i just produced a skate contest at my local skate park, my brother Pete came up to viist and help out. Even though last year much money was retunred to the feds by sates as unused, our Transpo secretrary claims the 1.5% of gasoline tax given to bicycle path projects is too much. Go figure

If that isn't enough, news from the california front. It seems a Jerry Brown, who still has digs in Sacremento (even though he's a shmuck), filed a lawsuit against Big Auto claiming they are responsible for emissions. Now i am all about 0 emission cars, as you know from reading this blog, but why doesn't California just re-instate their 0 emission standard and force electric car issues that way? Come on Jerry, using state funds to sue private industry with so many more effective tactics available, I wonder if you really care.

Here is a sotry worth reading. Thousands of acres of wetlands saved and army corp of engineers put in place. Engineering and buracracy don't mix.

Sometimes it takes a long time for an idea or investment to prove itself out. Remember when Lex Luthor bought all the that mojave desert land in Superman. Well it appears the day has come when some of the hottest sunniest real estate is finally valuble. The BLM has recieved requests for access roads to over 300,000 acres out there for future solar plants. It covers a few key points and gives most of the story. When i pick chard from my yard, I save money, time, and it tastes f#*$kin great. I eat what i want when i want, being aware doesn't mean being obsessive, thanks to God. CSA's, featured in the next bit are a great way to get organized, regional food. Happy eating! Check a short article here.

News links aside, i have been maintaining this blog a few months now and feel some fresh fantasies are due. Believe in what moves you, gives thanks to it when the time is right and don't miss the quiet moments of wind through your hair, a hand on your neck, or a split second exchange of humanity, a glance, a shoulder bump, or what ever. We may have past lives, over souls, second chances, or inter-dimensional capacities but all we know for sure is what is here, in this moment and I encourage everyone to embrace it as your love. Be as colorful or plain as you like, create or consume or both, ride the train or walk the streets, just be here and enjoy what the moment brings. Thanks be to the most high, one perfect divine love, poured upon us like water from a beach bucket.

Dreaming for Dollars...

Anyone who thinks lucid dreaming is worth trying check this out. For those of you who are not familiar, the Waldorf education system was hatched by the late great Rudolf Steiner, an Austrian who's gifts to the world keep on giving.
Here's a historical look at Waldorf Education. Here is a link to the North American association. Boom!
He was also asked to apply his theory to agriculture, and Bio-Dyanamic was born, and continues to be interpreted and applied the world over today. Here's a resource site. Bip!

I think this little piece will lead you to many portals of interesting things if you poke around. We can thank folks like Nikolai Tesla and Thomas Edison. It sarted years ago, some history via wikia here. Zip to now, and we have 5 billion of us wanting it. We have an electricity grid, but there's been problems, and more innovation is coming. Something about a team at Columbia's Earth Island Institute here. There's plenty of sun light, enough for all the plants, and then some. Huge solar arrays are still viable in the the deserts of the world, but a nice home unit is best, it offers equalibrium for the grid and less current loss over the wires. They are very expensive though, and I have often wondered how solar electricity was going to be made affordable? I always knew a business model would reveal itself and look HERE it is. They make money off your roof top real estate by renting you solar panels. In the process they give you the jaw dropping offer of a 25 year fixed billing rate. If you have the $ to own your PV system, you will eventually get checks from the power company. They pay for themselves in 5-10 years, the draw back is needing a PV electrician around when it breaks. Who's looking for a career change pronounced shaaange. Thanks to innovation and capital, our electricity generation is coming home. Combine this with an electric car or truck and you don't need a gas station or a power plant. Here's a wierdo video relating to the battery buy back and grid modification deal PG&E is working out. wha'? Austin, Texas mayor doing the right thing, and it seems we are learning to electrify objects through the air, welcome to the party WiTricity Well i hope the hops around here have helped. I remeber my older sister tried building an electric car in the garage one winter while my brother and I laughed. A solar one at that. I do beleive these cars are a gateway to much cleaner energy and automotive sectors, so the article is biased towards that.

While not so new really, Electric Cars wikipedia look are definitely a better choice for most peoples' daily. Unless you are hauling a heavy trailer, a heavy load or need heavy drugs to get by, electric motors will move your vehicle with amazing efficiency. Especially when you figure in the lack of every cars' heaviest passenger, the internal combustion engine. How they work. Electric cars or plug in's as they are also refered to as, offer us many advantages some of which i have listed below.

1. Less weight of engine and steel frame needed to carry said heavy engine=less energy needed to move entire car.
2. Less $ to operate.
3. Charging in evening when electricity use is at lowest point.
4. Emissions are from electricty generation only. (could be solar, wind etc.) Cogent but rantful look at actual footprint of electric cars.
5. Smaller and easier to park.
6. Quieter.
7. Large scale use would balance out the power grid and lead to innovation in the whole sector.

Some points I have considered

1. Short trips because of batteries running out of char
Tesla Motors has developed the latest battery technology, a bit about it - here. While battery technology is improving, a gas generator can be installed in your trunk and batteries can be plugged in at begining of long trip.

2. Slow and whimpy
Slow & Whimpy? Do you still think so?

3. Electricity grid can't handle it
Batteries charge at night for the most part, smoothing grid demand. Slow de-centralizing of power generation with grid tied home solar and wind is a trend, and an article announcing PG&E's intention to buy used vehicle batteries to further help smooth grid and capture more electricity is here. Read this

MIT has done some research and developed a model for electric city cars, with inovative baggage cart concept, something akin to the free bikes projects in college towns, only they're not bikes and they're not free. Boston Globe article here, check the interactive graphic for photos.

There is even a company called left coast conversions that will trasnform your internal combustion car to electric. To me this is a crime, and crimes by intelligent, sane individuals usually have a financial motivation. Bankers have motivation, less national currencies mean less coordinating and more super structrue to hide behind. Who else has to gain, any ideas? Well whomever has been brokering the deals and manufacturing the need in the public sphere will surely be well cared for by those that do benefit the most. So there's potential motivation for the implementers, and I don't mean the shmucks who belly up the congressional roll and say yay, though they get a little something through position and campaign funding. Now I suppose it will be cool to travel where ever I want in the world, no border problems, but free trade and lack of national sovereignty dosen't even ensure that. Travel restrictions could still be rampant for living creatures even if it is simplified for products and currencies. Who else benefits? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Seems like national laws about industrial or agricultural pollution are easily subverted through trade agreements, there's a motivational point for polluting industries etc.

One thing for sure, if we as a planetary population are headed for a more inter-planetary, or inter-galactic reality, like Star Wars, then getting one world governement would give us a better footing. That's a pretty big bite to chew thoroughly, so aside from that, it seems a small number of well positioned powecrats, bankers, and industrialists will benefit most. The Canadiens are not so happy either, check this very detailed timeline. i know this post # 2 about this topic but the timeline is exceptinal and it is happening, regardless of citizen consent.

North American Union in progess, watch out!

The Trilateral Cooperation Charter, ratified in 2004 is FDA's angle in the growing program to make a EU style government for North America, and skepticts said the new world order was a conspiracy theory. Plastic, the miracle material, is light weight, highly recylclable, uses less fuel to ship, doesn't break, but I'm sure it is very toxic to produce. How toxic, we'll see...
